Every May, AWA workshop leaders and writers across the globe Write Around the World.
Leaders help raise funds by offering donation-based writing groups, sharing the proceeds from each session to support AWA and its mission. New writers are introduced to the AWA method and given daily opportunities to write. Writers of all backgrounds come together to celebrate the unique creativity in each other’s voices.
Most groups are hosted online with open registration, sliding scale from $10-20. All are listed on AWA’s Event Calendar.
For AWA-trained workshop leaders interested in volunteering, you can learn more and sign up on this page. Let us know when you’re willing to lead and we’ll post your event to our calendar and website. We handle registration, promotion, and collecting donations. Your commitment is to plan and then host and facilitate the session.
In thanks, workshop leaders are automatically entered into a drawing to receive a scholarship for AWA’s professional development retreat this October! You’ll receive one entry per every five writers who join you to write.
